Dave Fox is a bestselling travel and humor author who has been exploring the world since age seven and writing stories about the chaos he tumbles into. He will be leading a workshop to share his writing tips and techniques on April 1, 2023, at ThinkingFunny23, a virtual humor & comedy writing conference offered via CrowdCast from 8:30 am to 6 pm, Pacific time with a 6:30-8 pm after-party via Zoom.
You can register for the live, interactive, online conferece by clicking here. You also may view the recorded sessions for up to a year.
Dave has a wealth of practical travel knowledge to draw from. He survived for 16 years as a website editor and tour guide for PBS travel personality Rick Steves before moving to Southeast Asia in 2011. He is originally from the United States, and has also lived in England, Norway, Turkey, Singapore, and Vietnam (but not all at the same time). After seven years in Ho Chi Minh City, he moved to Krabi, Thailand at the beginning of 2023.
Dave offers writer coaching and life coaching on Zoom for people with creative goals and/or cultural adjustment challenges. He is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in mental health counseling via an online program with Palo Alto University.
Dave’s first book, Getting Lost: Mishaps of an Accidental Nomad is his collection of humor essays about things that have gone wrong in his overseas travels. Globejotting: How to Write Extraordinary Travel Journals teaches wandering humans how to craft more meaningful diaries of their journeys. He teaches travel and humor writing workshops on Udemy.com, and contributes travel humor columns to En Voyage, the in-flight magazine for Taiwan-based EVA Air.
As long as Thailand’s Internet Gods cooperate, Dave will be joining us and enjoying some virtual jet lag from his scruffy little beach bungalow halfway around the world. To learn more about his writing, online courses, and coaching services, please visit Globejotting.com.
